MERKLE APPOINTS TIM BERRY AND PATRICK HENNESSY AS CO-PRESIDENTS

Marketing Firm’s Corporate Realignment to Support Integrated Marketing Initiatives and Position Agency for Continued Growth

Columbia, Md. – November 19, 2009 – Merkle (www.merkleinc.com), one of the nation’s largest and fastest growing customer relationship marketing agencies, announced today the appointment of Patrick Hennessy and Tim Berry – both 12-year veterans of Merkle – to the newly created positions of co-presidents. The change comes as Merkle consolidates its core operating units, including technology, data, analytics, strategy, creative and production management, as well as all business development and client management resources – all of which will report to Hennessy and Berry.

Patrick Hennessy and Tim Berry both joined Merkle in 1997, playing key roles in building the organization from 80 employees and $19 million in annual revenue to more than 1,000 employees and estimated 2009 revenue of $240 million. Hennessy first came to Merkle in a business development role, but quickly rose to the ranks of executive vice president and group leader of the Commercial Markets Group, where he and Tim Berry worked hand-in-hand to oversee the delivery of data-driven marketing solutions to Merkle’s clients. Tim Berry joined Merkle as the company’s first statistician. In addition to co-developing corporate integration and client engagement initiatives, he also played a key role in implementing the agency’s quantitative growth strategy. Today, Merkle employs over 125 statisticians in the U.S. and China who provide the analytic support for Merkle’s unique customer relationship marketing approach.
