Scott Cone is senior vice president and general manager for Merkle’s Retail Solutions Group. Scott leads a team of industry specialists dedicated to supporting client companies that are category leaders in consumer products, technology and retailers of all types from department stores and restaurants to fashion and specialty stores. Scott and his team lead efforts to improve marketing performance, increase customer value and to create effective partnerships with our clients to execute intelligent multi-channel marketing.
Scott has been at Merkle since 2001 and has also served in the roles of vice president of professional services and vice president of business intelligence. As vice president of business intelligence at Merkle, Scott launched the company’s initial efforts in database marketing consulting. Scott has 20 years of database marketing and CRM experience and prior to joining Merkle was director of worldwide database marketing at IBM. He has also held related positions at Epsilon and AT&T Bell Laboratories.
A frequent speaker at database and direct marketing conferences, Scott’s articles on trends and best practices have appeared in many industry publications. He holds an MS in Statistics from North Carolina State University, an MS in natural resources from Cornell University, and a BS in biology from Oklahoma State University.
