Barry Smith is Chief Information Officer at Merkle. In this role, Barry focuses on accelerating the development of Merkle's secure technical infrastructure and corporate information systems, to improve solution delivery and ultimately, drive operational excellence for all Merkle businesses.
Barry joined Merkle in 2004 and brings nearly 20 years of experience in all aspects of technology management. His career includes Big Six consulting (Coopers & Lybrand), Fortune 500 IT management (Marriott International), a Silicon Valley startup (NetDynamics, now a division of Sun), and building an nationally recognized, award-winning IT department at the City of Gaithersburg, Maryland.
He graduated from Purdue University with a BS in computer technology. Barry also holds an MBA from The George Washington University with a custom concentration in technology product management and entrepreneurship.
