Serving South Florida at Merkle’s Summit

A desire to serve is one of Merkle’s core values. It’s something we apply to both clients and communities. During the 14th Annual Performance Executive Summit from June 12-14 , we brought together industry experts and marketing thought leaders from world-class brands to discuss how to make people-based marketing a reality.

Over two and a half days, attendees acquired the tools and knowledge to think big, start small, and move fast. However, it was not all about content as participants had the opportunity to network with peers and participate in social events.

Part of Merkle’s Summit experience is to give back— and we’re proud to offer attendees a chance to contribute in support of local communities where the event is held. Over the past years we have partnered with many organizations including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, SCORE (South Carolina Oyster Recycling & Enhancement) and Bikes w/Benefits among others.

And for the 2017 Summit, we were honored to partner with Feeding South Florida, a member of the Feeding America network and the leading domestic hunger-relief organization in South Florida, to support food-challenged Palm Beach County residents. Following an introduction and presentation by Heidi Reeves, community investment manager at Feeding South Florida, the group was split into four teams and took on the PB&J Challenge, each forming its own action plan to complete as many bagged lunches as possible.

Competition was fierce (but friendly) with each team having its own strategy to making the PB&J sandwiches, adding fruit and chips, and creating the bagged lunch. Whether it was everyone making the sandwiches and creating individual bags, to production lines with each team member having a specific job and task, each team had the goal in sight. And throughout the activity, the competitive banter kept coming – which made for some very lively 45 minutes of competition!

At the end of the activity, the group had managed to bag 500 lunches! We were thrilled to be able to help so many individuals and support a great organization!

I’m #merkleproud of the service initiative we value. Do you have a desire to serve?
