Rereading and enjoying Surowiecki's The Wisdom Of Crowds, trying to understand if companies that decentralize decisionmaking run better because their employees are more empowered / invested, or if they run better simply because groups often make better decisions than individuals. Some of both, clearly, but I think "crowd wisdom" plays a large role. I recommend The Wisdom Of Crowds as an organizational behavior management book, esp. Chapter 10.
