Yahoo To FireFox Users: Choose Us!

In an earlier post, I wrote about the tremendous value Google gains by being the default search engine in the Firefox browser search box. Today, Yahoo has started campaigning users to change that default. Here's a screen shot: yahoo1 And here's the pop-up you see when you hover on the link: yahoo2 Once you conduct a search through the box using Yahoo, they set a cookie and these messages are no longer shown (even if you go back to using Google as the default). How long do you think until Yahoo starts testing offering Firefox users incentives -- small cash payments, sweepstakes entries, whatever -- to encourage them to set Yahoo as their search preference?
