Job Description:

LOCATION:   Atlanta, GA or remote

The Decisioning Analytics role is important as it will support ongoing program insights associated client Decisioning platform implementations and expansions. This is a position that requires a combination of focus and flexibility, problem-solving, communication and collaboration skills.  The individual in this role will need to understand the relationship between the decisioning platform (e.g., Pegasystems, IBM, Adobe, etc) and the data in order to support Marketing clients’ goals and vision. The individual in this role will conduct analyses on commercial benefits and operational metrics, assess campaigns effectiveness and ROI, identify trends and opportunities, and optimize outcomes via A/B testing. Other responsibilities include standardized and ad-hoc reporting for a combination of CRM/Marketing Operations, Product/Brand, Channels and other related stakeholder groups.

* Work with client business partners to translate Marketing strategy to specific analyses and resulting recommendations

* Work within a fast-paced, action-oriented environment

* Conduct analyses to support the business, across one or more areas of insight

* Present analysis findings to the client’s Marketing organization

* Develop dashboard reports in Tableau or similar BI application to support the broader set of Marketing stakeholders

* Work with Decisioning platform and enterprise data in an EDW / Analytics Sandbox environment

* Collaborate with data team to provide recommendations to set up data models that support the broader analytics team

* Collaborate and support other team members with data preparation, ETL, investigation, methodology and development

* Work directly with the client to understand business goals, methodology considerations and timing for analysis and reporting work

* Share best practices with broader Merkle analytics teams

* Focus on demonstrating Commercial Benefits of Decisioning programs, where  insights contribute to gains in ROI over time

* Leverage Decisioning Program knowledge to recommend specific actions to improve program outcomes (e.g., journeys, campaigns, offers, models, data, etc.)

Decisioning Analytics role will interact regularly with the Merkle technology team, as well as  multiple client teams to support client Decisioning engagements around North America. This role will also work directly with the clients’ BI, Analytics and Marketing partners, both onsite and offsite.

* Ability to provide thought leadership in core areas of responsibility/expertise, contributing to program strategy and recommendations

* Independent thinker, prepared to provide situational analysis and recommendations for moving things forward

* Excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build business relationships.

* Ability to evaluate customer requirements and modify analyses and deliverables accordingly

* Ability to interact effectively with peers and all levels of management, including all Lines of Business and external stakeholders. Clear and concise writing and verbal skills are crucial to the ability to obtain and disseminate information.

* Strong SQL programming experience, preferably in a Teradata environment

* Strong knowledge of managing data in a data warehouse environment

* Data analysis and modeling experience using top data science languages (python/R/SAS) 

* Ability to investigate data (vetting, anomaly detection and resolution, etc.)

* Excellent Tableau development skills

* Ability to craft data stories through visualizations

* Strong Excel skills

* Ability to interact effectively with peers and all levels of management, including all Lines of Business and external stakeholders. Clear and concise writing and verbal skills are crucial to the ability to obtain and disseminate information.


* 10+ years in marketing analytics

* 8+ years in software application development and BI projects
* 8+ years of SQL programming experience

* 5+ years of Tableau or similar BI platform experience

* 5+ years of data analysis and modeling using Python/R/SAS

* 5+ years data management experience

* 5+ years CRM experience preferred


Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in computer science or related discipline, with a quantitative concentration.
