Job Description:

The Sales Engineering role will be responsible for managing all facets of the assigned Sales Engineering teams worldwide, with principle focus on the M1 Platform.  The primary role of Sales Engineers is to assist our sales organizations achieve their quarterly and annual sales targets, while servicing our clients and new prospects.  As part of the Sales team, you will: provide leadership for development and training of Sales Engineering personnel, career planning, and compensation; participate in the technical evaluation stage of the sales process from qualifying opportunities to responding to RFP’s; participate in the design and creation of proof of concepts and proof of value for clients and prospects; and ensure the execution of technical and professional excellence in the technical aspect of the sales cycle with our national clients and prospects.

Your Focus:  

  • Work in partnership with Sales to establish goals, operational objectives, and work plans for the SE team worldwide, with particular emphasis on the M1 Platform 
  • Review objectives to determine success of Sales Engineering function and communicates to Sales and SE management team quarterly 
  • Provide and maintain technical sales support (e.g., product presentations, architecture reviews, application discussions, prototype development) 
  • Actively coach technical sales strategy for key deals 
  • Oversee the Sales Engineering activities for the largest, most significant accounts
  • Develop and communicates policies that affect SE function 
  • Assure adherence to budgets, schedules and work plans 
  • Provide direction and strategy to Senior Managers to ensure operational excellence 
  • Actively measure, monitor and adjust resources and activities appropriately to maintain good customer engagement, sales process

  • Motivation, Innovation, Passion, Integrity, Teamwork, Customer-Focus 
  • Prior Sales Engineering and leadership experience
  • Strong analysis skills, ability to evaluate customer requirements
  • Deep understanding of API services
  • Domain knowledge in eCommerce, Media Platforms and/or Audience Development technologies
  • Understanding of how to architect and build new and modify existing solutions
  • Excellent written and communication skills

You should also bring the following:

  • MS/BS degree in Business, Computer Science, Business Analytics or equivalent preferred 
  • 10+ years experience managing presales organizations; experience managing 50+ technical professionals; demonstrable success managing first, second line managers, and senior technical specialists 
  • 5+ years experience managing a diverse workforce 
  • Has solid executive presence, ability to effectively interact with executives within and outside of the company 
  • Strong organizational, project management and time management skills 
  • Proven leadership skills in the ability to recruit, mentor, coach and develop employees 
  • Experience in key account management and execution of complex sales campaigns 
  • Strong performance management and team building skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Solid listening skills; Can quickly digest information and respond in an accurate and concise manner.
  • Has the ability to respond appropriately to complex questions 
  • Has a solid ability to troubleshoot a sales cycle 
  • Proven sales and marketing capabilities 
  • Excellent collaboration skills with cross-functional organizations 
  • Experience in developing and managing budgets 
  • Advanced knowledge of enterprise software technology 
  • Demonstrated analytical and strategic thinking skills 
  • Willing and able to travel about 50%+ of time
