Job Description:

Role Purpose

The Platform Architect is a unique hybrid of business and technical consultant with the ability to operate as a digital tech lead focusing on solutioning for Consumer Data Platforms (CDP) such as Adobe Experience Platform, Salesforce, ActionIQ, mParticle, Tealium, Segment, Lytics. As the owner of the technical solution for multiple clients, this person is responsible for the successful onboarding and overall technological direction for those clients and works as a liaison between the account management and operations team to design and deliver high quality, scalable technical solutions. The successful candidate will be able to display thought leadership, technical prowess, and the ability to manage cross-division, cross-functional teams from project inception to completion.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical expertise while scoping and driving the creation of architectural solutions that deliver measurable, relevant digital experiences at scale
  • Gather business, marketing, and technical requirements to create and present comprehensive and scalable solution to technical and business stakeholders
  • Architect data feeds, design platform configurations and components needed to run complex automated campaigns
  • Ensure alignment of business requirements with Merkle standards and policies, and with industry best practices
  • Proactively identify and resolve issues related to overall platform performance from data ingestion to data distribution
  • Stay abreast of industry technology innovations, new business practices, and third-party technology solutions
  • Help us continuously improve by identifying, creating, and enhancing internal systems and processes based on recurring client requests or evolving industry standards
  • Act as a consultant and technical expert on Marketing Technologies to serve Clients’ needs
Qualifications:
  • 3+ years' experience in information technology or technical marketing, with at least 2 years in a client-facing position
  • Certified Expert (examples: Adobe Experience Platform, Adobe Target, Adobe Analytics, Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate)
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in computer science/Computer Engineering
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to conceptualize and communicate highly detailed technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Understanding of security/privacy best practices
  • Ability to take initiative as well as lead, motivate, and oversee teams to produce results
  • Effectively works in a highly matrixed environment across Strategy, Business, Marketing, Analytics, Technology, Finance, Customer Success
  • Solid understanding of:
    • Platform architecture with focus on data ingress and egress
    • XDM & Mix-Ins (for data modelling)
    • Relational database concepts, with exposure to SQL
    • Data management, segmentation, ETL best practices
    • Scripting and query development
    • API – effectively using tools as Swagger to build and present data relationships across solutions
