Job Description:

(The role could be based in the UK or Spain) 

Merkle sit in the sweet spot between consultancy, creative agencies, and the typical system integrators. Our projects focus heavily on Customer Experience Management which has seen huge growth over the past 12 months. 

Within Merkle, the Experience Platform team create content managed customer experiences for a wide range of clients. We span a number of technologies but our primary tool is Adobe Experience Manager. We are globally renowned and have Platinum Partner status with Adobe. Our AEM projects include new Site and Asset implementation alongside a number of ongoing managed service clients. Over the past few years, we have also designed and implemented some truly innovative projects across the Adobe Experience Cloud 

Life as an AEM Business User Lead

We are looking for someone to join our team who can help our clients get the best out of Adobe Experience Manager. There are two core focus areas for this role which are split between internal and external activities.  

External: We implement and manage sites which in many cases are taken forward and managed by our clients. Our approach is to make this transition as smooth as possible, and for our clients to feel confident they have the knowledge and support to create excellent digital experiences and run content operations effectively. To help us we are looking for someone with solid experience of populating and managing sites within AEM. You will have worked for a number of years in the AEM Author environment. You will have an excellent understanding of components, templates and managing page properties. Ideally you will have had exposure to content and experience fragments, managing asset, editable templates, publication workflows and launches. This role will spend a lot of time guiding clients, running Q&As, as well as designing and running training sessions. Any knowledge of accessibility, SEO and good User Experience principles will be advantageous.  

Internally: Merkle have a growing number of sites we manage on behalf of our clients. We would like this role to be instrumental in how we design, operate, and roll out these services. This typically requires someone who can consult with clients to understand their site’s set up, their marketing requirements and the strategic digital direction they will be taking. With this knowledge you will then help us onboard our teams and play an ongoing support and guidance role in order to drive success and quality.

What we are looking for in you

  • Extensive experience with using AEM across multiple sites
  • A track record of guiding AEM users in management tasks 
  • Experience of setting up and running training courses or workshops 
  • Documenting site processes, guidelines and creating standards 
  • Experience mentoring teams 
  • Estimation of effort for site activities 
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement and putting the processes in place to achieve these  
  • It will be beneficial to have experience with other CMS tools, such as Sitecore, Umbraco, Magnolia, Content Stack
