The Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an experience Early Careers Recruiter to join our CXM Service Line. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation where Talent Acquisition is top of the Leadership agenda. Our hiring team is made up of dynamic, sociable people who work both collaboratively and autonomously to cater to Merkle’s growing entry level hiring targets. You will be responsible for managing all Early Careers hires into the Merkle brand.

The role will focus on both technical and non-technical entry level talent specific to the Media and digital marketing industry. Networking and building talent pipelines, screening CVs and interviewing will be your passion to ensure that we attract and hire the best talent available to us in the marketplace. 

The suitable candidate will have previous experience of Early Careers hiring, managing stakeholder relationships and running the end-to-end recruitment process.

Life as an Early Careers Recruiter at Merkle

We operate in a fast-paced environment supporting a business that is exceeding expectations with new client wins and growth. This role will assume responsibility for all Early Careers hiring activities ranging from planning of attraction activities (e.g careers fairs) to the day-to-day management of talent through our interview process. We also have a huge focus on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion so you will need to be passionate about being creative with recruitment methods and attracting and reaching all candidates from all backgrounds. The role will involve:

·       Working closely with the Heads of Departments to understand the hiring plan and agenda

·       Broadcasting opportunities in the marketplace and identifies suitable attraction strategies

·       Screening applications from job boards, careers fairs and other sources

·       Arranging testing sessions and video interviews, shortlisting candidates to submit to hiring managers

·       Conducting individual interviews and organising group interviews/assessment centres both online and offline

·       Assisting Hiring Managers with writing role profiles in line with the industry

·       Proactively identifying and connecting with sources of talent (e.g Universities, Charities etc.) and bringing a point of view on where to seek our Early Career talent in the marketplace

·       Working with our Apprentice provider to identify and attract talent

·       Building an understanding of our competitor landscape, best practice hiring and ensuring we are at the forefront of our industry in attracting the best talent available

·       Managing expectations of hiring managers in terms of hiring timeframes, availability of candidates, pipelines etc.

·       Using our Applicant Tracking System (ATS), SmartRecruiters, to manage candidates through our hiring process

·       Issuing offer letter and contracts through ATS and trigger onboarding ensuring candidates experience is strong

·       Ensuring reporting is accurate, managed through SmartRecruiters

·       Ensuring we remain GDPR compliant at all times

Qualifications:

 What we're looking for in you:

·       We anticipate the suitable candidate will bring a minimum of circa 2+ years’ experience hiring technical/media/digital early careers talent 

·       A point of view on best practice with ability to constantly evolve our Early Careers offering in Merkle

·       Experience screening a high volume of CVs quickly and easily identifying suitable candidates

·       Experience of recruiting truly diverse talent pipelines

·       Able to build good relationships and a strong network with key individuals within the business and extract relevant information required

·       Experience of accurately reporting and tracking recruitment activity and sharing information across the team

·       Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multitask and juggle several competing priorities and roles with accuracy

·       Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholder and be confident presenting in front of others

·       An understanding of the digital marketing industry

·       Ability to use Linked In Recruiter and/or SmartRecruiters is desirable

The Interview Process

Throughout the entire process we will be wanting to learn more about you as an individual (your interests, skills and understanding of the role), your passion for this area and the research you’ve done. Don’t focus on the nerves, make sure you come prepared and ensure you interview us as well! At the end of the day you’ll be with us 5 days a week, so you want to make sure its somewhere you want to work to.
