We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with circa 3 years’ experience to join our Platform Team working as a Systems Administrator. The candidate will be given exposure to some of the latest technologies available in platform solutions. A perfect opportunity for someone with a passion for technology and innovative ideas.
Life as a Systems Administrator at Merkle
The successful candidate will join an exciting team that's working across various platforms with multiple clients to support. This is an exciting opportunity for a Systems Administrator to join our team. The individual will be responsible for administering and maintaining Big Data, Informatica, NiFi and Cloud Environments.
The role will involve using the strong career framework at Merkle to develop the candidate's skills and capability to resolve application issues on Data platforms (primarily on Hadoop, NiFi and Informatica) and Cloud platforms (AWS, Google, and Azure).
The role responsibilities include managing and implementing changes to our platforms, provide high levels of reliability, maintenance, and support. We are looking for someone to join our team who can prioritise and adapt to rapid change within our business. The successful candidate will be a resilient character with the ability to create and drive ideas and undertake cloud training to ensure their skills remain relevant to the future of our organization's cloud strategies.

What we are looking for in you
- Systems administrator with circa 2 years’ relevant experience
- Analytical thinking, with the capability to apply logic to solve problems
- The enthusiasm to take on challenging tasks
- Ability to work under pressure, multi-task, and meet deadlines
- Determination to solve complex and challenging situations
- Initiative to pro-actively expand knowledge and improve skills
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate with other technical specialists
- Linux administration
- Systems administration
- Exposure to any of the following platforms - Hadoop, Informatica, Jira, Confluence, GitHub, GlobalScape and NiFi
- Experience with scripting languages, such as BASH or PowerShell.
- Exposure to databases technologies (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- Exposure to cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google)
