As Vice President of Alliance Enterprise Sales for the AWS partnership, Carl Engel enables AWS and Merkle sales teams to drive new business development, identify alliance sales leads and find synergies and fits between AWS and enterprise marketing buyers. In particular, Carl helps the AWS sales community with navigating the complex space of client marketing organizations and the CMO’s office. He enables AWS to tap into Merkle expertise in areas such as campaigns, customer data, customer experience, advanced analytics, AI and digital media and how these marketing functions can best move to the power of the AWS cloud. Carl puts together the right relationships, the needed resources, the best connections and facilitates deal creation to help AWS and Merkle alliance sales thrive.
Prior to this role, Carl oversaw strategic accounts at Merkle and was the Alliance Sales Lead for partners like Adobe, Salesforce, Google and others. Prior to joining Merkle, Carl held leadership and alliance sales positions with several leading technology companies. He served as Global Partnership Lead at Rackspace, was Global Vice President of Alliances at IPG/MRM McCann and served as VP of Alliances at Liquidhub (now Capgemini).
Carl lives in South Texas where he enjoys life with his wife and children.
