Gerry Bavaro is an entrepreneurial, visionary digital marketing veteran with 20+ years of experience working with Fortune 500 clients as a digital media agency and ad-tech product leader. He helps drive the evolution of technology and data-driven agencies and clients to success through excellence in executive leadership, product innovation, media strategy and planning and client service.

As Global Chief Strategy Officer, Gerry helps lead the M1 people-based planning and activation platform business. The platform is a first of its kind enabling Dentsu Aegis Network agencies to create people-based audiences based on consumer data and secure onboarding of client CRM data all linked at the individual level. The platform’s person level ID drives rich insights and seamless matching and onboarding to leading media publishers and platforms for addressable media targeting at scale and informed traditional media planning and buying all based on real people vs proxies like cookies. Gerry is responsible for global product and marketing strategy, agency integration and client solution standards, and media/publisher development teams, including M1’s Publisher Addressable Marketplaces™ team responsible for unique enablement of people-based data and addressable targeting across premium media partners.

Previous to Merkle, Gerry was Chief Strategy Officer at Omnicom Media Group's global performance media agency, Resolution Media where he helped lead the growth and evolution of the company for over 6 years, including its expansion into social media, content marketing, global capabilities and Annalect + Accuen integration. Gerry has also held positions at Digitas where he was SVP, Performance Media, and at search engine marketing pioneer Didit where he was EVP from 2004 – 2009 leading client services and the development of one of the first programmatic trading desks in partnership with Appnexus and Invite Media. Gerry got his start in digital from 1998-2002 at one of the world’s first digital agencies, AGENCY.COM as an Account Director leading strategy and website development projects. Gerry’s articles and interviews have been published in AdAge, Adweek, AdExchanger, DM News, MediaPost, and a host of other publications and he is an active speaker in the digital industry at leading conferences.
