As Chief Technology Officer, Product, Peter leads the technology teams that supercharge the marketing efforts of Merkle’s Digital Agency Group via the platforms and products they build.
For more than 20 years, Peter has been successfully leading software, infrastructure, administrative, product, and data engineering teams. He specializes in leveraging big data technologies to achieve business goals in digital marketing, advertising, and publishing. Prior to joining Merkle, his most recent positions were with iCrossing and Core Audience, both as Chief Technology Officer. He was a major contributor to the successful acquisition and integration of iCrossing by the Hearst Corporation in 2010. Peter designed and led successful development efforts behind the iCrossing Connected Marketing Platform, the Core Audience DMP, and the Hearst audience network.
Prior to iCrossing, Peter was at Agency.com for over seven years, fully riding the ebbs and flows of the internet boom. Six of those seven years were in executive-level positions with the final three as Agency.com’s Chief Information Officer. Before his technical career took off and several companies earlier, Peter’s professional life began as a high school history teacher in Coney Island. A favored but rare story of Peter’s to tell is how a historian became a data engineer/marketing technologist. He holds a B.A in History from New York University, where he was also a Trustee Scholar.
